How Artificial Intelligence Is Reinventing Human Resources

All of us who have been through job interviews know how anxious we can get during this entire process. Multiple rounds of interviews, technical assessments and back-and-forth HR rounds. This could be…

What did I say wrong?

I did not mean what I said… 🥺😣

It is your mind and thoughts that will limit you in your entrance season. Do not walk with your senses but your faith. For “by faith we walk and not by sight.” You become what you confess.

James Allen in his book; “As a man thinketh,” republished in 2008 by Tony Nutley shared these thoughts…

‘“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he,” not only embraces the whole of a man’s being, but is also comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstances of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts. Thoughts in the mind has made us, what we are by thought was wrought and built. If a man’s mind hath evil thoughts, pain comes on him as comes the wheel the ox behind… If one endures in purity of thought, joy follows him as his own shadow, sure.’”

There is power in your confession, this is rightly said in the book of Proverbs 18:21; “life and death lies in the power of the tongue. And those who love it will eat its fruit.” This is a general and common statement said by many. But have you per adventure thought it through and through it’s impact on our lives? Have you thought of the fact that our lives are basically formed around the words we speak to ourselves or others speak to us and the thoughts we create and establish in our subconscious?

If the world and all other things were made to be by the spoken Word of God, how much more the words we speak out of our mouths, we who are created in His image and likeness, we who are direct heirs to the throne of God through his Son Jesus. Our words are powerful.

It is rather pathetic how we allow ourselves to make misguided and talk loosely mostly out of fear, anxiety, and or self doubt. Look at how the Israelites spent extra 40 years in the wilderness as a result of their fear, doubt and negative confessions.

Reading from the book of Numbers 13:1 downwards. In 40 days, 12 spies were sent from the tribes of Israel by Moses on authority by God to the land he had promised them; Canaan. On returning, two gave positive and faith filled reports but the other 10 had their mouths and minds filled with much fear, negativity and doubt on the promise and spoken promise of the Lord. Out of their inner selves they spoke with one accord;

“We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants; and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

Come on. Really! Grasshoppers in their sight? See how they speak as if they ever got so close enough to have any interactions with the folk who possessed the land. They were so scared they debunked all that had been promised them. This, now this was enough to cause and throw tantrums amidst the entire population of the Israelites, even a riot I can say. Nothing said from their able leaders and other two with positive confessions could perform a reverse psychology on what they had heard minutes ago.

Not to blame them, I would have easily been a part of the crowd who believed the negative story against that of the other 2 as well as their leaders; Moses and Aaron, making 4. Even the confession of the 4 will not be compared to the 10, because they are by far outnumbered.

Out of anger and frustration from the continuous complaints and doubts God speaks to Moses these words;

“How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them? I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, … they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it.”

Wow. See where the loose words of the Israelites landed them. Total rejection from the Lord (trust me, this is not a place you want to be. See how it feels when your enemies are after, how much more when your maker turns a blind eye to you; you are just totally finished). A forty year delay for what could have been at their reach for just 40 days.

After hearing the message from God to them through Moses, all the children of Israel, and the people mourned greatly (Numbers 14:39). But it was just too late. God was tired and fed up with their self doubt and negative speeches. His grace was lifted from them.

God does not work with our feelings, if he did, Sarah; Abraham’s wife would have never taken seed to fulfill the promise of God to Abraham.

In the cool of the day Abraham was visited by Lord as he sat recollecting and making reflections of his life under a big tree enjoying the cool breeze of the day.

Through a conversation after he had offered “service” and “offering” to the men who had come to visit, a prophetic word was released to Abraham of him bearing a son a year from that day. Now bear in mind in the verses 11 of Genesis 18; “Abraham and his wife Sarah were old and well advanced in age; and Sarah has well passed the age of childbearing.” The Bible says in Genesis 18:12“‘therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?’” Just when the Word was spoken, Sarah laughed. In her spirit she mocked the prophetic word for the fruit of her womb.

No no don’t judge her. She had every right to laugh. All things being equal, she had way passed her childbearing age. And from what science says, she wasn’t anywhere near bearing or even carrying a baby if there was a child transplant or a developed fetus was artificially inserted in her womb. She was just beyond all that. Her womb was practically dead.

She could have gotten on the nerves of God like the Israelites did in the wilderness and attracted some curses or rebuke, but because our God does not work with our feelings or emotions, he overlooked her doubt and still goes ahead to be merciful to the couple.

Listen to what He says after she laughs; 14“Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” Don’t we serve a merciful God.

Zacharias was made dumb so he does not kill the birthing of John the Baptist with his words. His doubting words could have aborted the miracle God was doing. As a result, the Lord’s angel out of anger and frustration had him go mute thus to stop him from making any pronouncements that could possibly abort God’s plans for his life. Practically, prayers have been offered severally over years for the fruit of the womb, for a breakthrough, for a particular answer to a situation. And the very moment an answer to what you seek is brought to you, the first thing you do is complain, doubt, ill talk it? If it were me bringing the answer, I will take it back. No two ways. But our God does not work with our feelings but by his grace, love and timing.

“‘And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.” And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.’” Luke 1:18–20

If God had to cause his angel to mute the mouth of his servant after a prophetic word was spoken over his life. This should bring to your attention that words are powerful. They can either avert or create what is to be.

Ecclesiastes 5:6–7 says; “Do not let your mouth lead you into sin. And do not protest to the temple messenger, My vow was a mistake. Why should God be angry at what you say and destroy the work of your hands? Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore fear God.”

What did you kill and what are you killing with your mouth this day?

This relationship won’t work, this business won’t work, I’m too tired and I can’t do this anymore, nothing works in this country, my boss is not good, I don’t like my home, I’m not happy, I don’t think I will ever get over this pain, you never make me happy, as for you nothing better comes from you, I’m a loner, as for me I’m always sad, no one likes me, I will never make it through this year (these amongst many we say and repeat to ourselves day in and day out) … what are you killing with your mouth?

If by spoken Words the world was formed, just know these words we constantly repeat to ourselves and to others, our children, our friends, even our parents gradually and slowly builds up, transforms, shapes and creates who or what our present situations or future events will be. Watch what you speak for others have had themselves cursed and missed the blessings of God by so doing.

You might not have meant those words or you said them out of total dismay, anger, regret or doubt. Having gotten these insights into spoken words, go back to God, get into his presence and begin to reverse these negative spoken words and begin to speak those things which were not as though they were. You are what you think you are.

The Bible rightly says in the book of proverbs 23:7; “as a man thinks in his heart, so he is.” Watch your thoughts, they become your actions. Watch your thoughts. What you allow yourself to think has direct impact on your mood, behavior and mannerisms. “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind that you may prove that good and perfect will of God in your life.”

Let me end with this poem;

“If you think you are beaten, you are; If you think you dare not, you don’t,

If you like to win, but you think you can’t; It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost; For out of the world we find,

Success begins with a fellow’s will; It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are; You’ve got to think high to rise,

You’ve got to be sure of yourself before; You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go; To the stronger or faster man,

But soon or late the man who wins; Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!”
