Indian Trail

This week we head back to the Charlotte metro with a stopover at Indian Trail. Like many of its neighboring towns, Indian Trail was mostly a farming community before the introduction of the railway. However, the town was also along the native trade route that stretched all the way into Virginia ,and as such took the name Indian Trail.

The Porter Ridge FC name is one I pulled from the local schools and business around the town. The local schools use a pirate theme and I wanted to bring that forward with the crossed sabers in my design. The lettering uses a hard edge cube style that gave me a modern pirate vibe. For a color pallet, I kept it simple with black and white — a carryover from the local schools — but added the burgundy to give a more bloody splash.

For home field locations, I have a pair of fields in the woods at Bonterra Soccer Fields. These don’t have any infrastructure however, so I would push for a team to play at the Strikers Soccer Center at Indian Trails. The downside is these are turf fields, but you gain the benefit of the lighting and the potential to add stands along the one side in the future.

I wasn’t too inspired to step out of the box with this jersey, so I played it safe by bringing the single black bar from the logo over to the shirt. The trim features the burgundy and there is a sublimated static effect across the entire kit.
