Predicting if a wine is red based on basic taste profile characteristics

So we know that color can be deceiving. But I was curious whether other attributes of wines can also be confusing.

All of this led me to the research question that sparked this project: Can we predict red and white wines based on key attributes? Which are the wines that are most likely to be confused?

An example of the Wine Folly pages (from their website):

If we can use a basic classification method (logistic regression in this case) to predict whether a wine is red or not, we will be able to use the resulting probabilities to understand which wines are most likely to be misclassified as red or white. Our goal will be to get high accuracy of this model, while also not relying on obvious characteristics (more discussion in following sections).

I first ran the model on all 5 characteristics to see which had p-values <0.05. Fruity, sweetness, and acidity were all above this threshold, so they were removed and we ran the model again.
